@superE230 hey.. yea i freaked out too.. so heres the deal if you want to go to mp3 you got to connect your usb cord and open the icon that says kindle.. open itunes or whatever music you have and make sure it is mp3( itunes doesnt do that it does m4p or somethig like that, i used limewire and directly transfered songs to kindle icon) then you diconnect go to experimental and itll let u go down to mp3, and for text to speech if u dont have any books that are able to speak then it wont go down.

I just got a kidnle and I love it. But when I go to the experimental page, i cant scroll down to the other optons. is that normal?

  3. mtechfan says:

No, it wont hurt it. They even make specific ones for the Kindle as well.

Since it doesnt have a back light, would it damage the kindle if u used a booklight to still be able to read in the dark, im asking cus i read at night b4 going to sleep and my husband hates the lamp on, so i usealy use a book light. So would it damage it at all if i still used the book light so i can still read?????????

@MisOmi005 nope, its part of the wireless cell phone service that it uses (which you dont have to pay for either!)

    Nope

My Kindle 2 is coming tomorrow so I am already downloading books & free books (Amazon has 7,000 free ebooks) so that when I get my device set up, it will automatically sync to the K2.

You don’t have to pay for your own documents to be put on it! You can transfer your own personal stuff using the Usb cable. You can convert files using Calibre (google it) and get newsfeeds as well.

I’m very excited to be getting the Kindle before Christmas!

  16. MisOmi005 says:

is there a fee for browsing the web on kindle 2?

  17. giganticbang says:

Thanks so much for this information. We are enjoying our Kindles (minus the Whispernet functions) over here in Australia

    Thanks – very helpful.

  24. bluemukaki says:

you have to buy the books and pay for your own documents to be put on it.

It doesn’t have a light because e-ink technology in the screen doesn’t need a backlight – books don’t have a light either.

i love how they are deliberatly withholding a color screen for the kindle 3…..fuckin capitalist bastards!
